Heart

The heart, both as an organ and as a symbol, has always been associated with our emotions, our core and our very essence as human beings. It was the heart, and not the brain, that both the ancient Egyptians and Greeks considered to be the source of our innermost thoughts and feelings, as they believed that the heart contained one’s soul.

Love, in all of its forms, is felt first and foremost in the heart. Whether in the form of romantic love, friendship, parental love, or love of one’s family, this feeling is experienced primarily inside our chests. My song “Heart” explores the theme of love and the feelings of both beauty and pain that come with loving another human being.
